(Click Image to Enlarge)Stamping of Copper Bus Bar

Our midwest insert molding customer supplying the automotive industry needed a bus bar for a rotary contact and terminal set for an ignition assembly. At G&M Manufacturing we specialize in precision metal stamping which was ideal for this project. The customer supplied drawings called out the use of C102 copper, which was stamped utilizing our 60 ton Bruderer straight side press. Overall part dimensions were 38 mm x 21 mm x 14 mm and manufactured to tolerances of ±.025 mm, all of which are verified with the use of our OGP vision system. After stamping, the bus bar had a portion of the silver plating applied to enhance conductivity. We manufacture 920,000 parts annually for our Midwest customer. At G&M Manufacturing we take pride in our ability to produce high volume precision products such as this. This project exemplifies the multiple capabilities that we provide for the automotive industry.
