With presses of up to 100 tons in an ISO 9001:2015-certified facility, G&M Manufacturing ensures precision in all its precision metal stamping. Many of our presses are equipped with in-die sensors and automated camera systems to ensure the best standard of quality. One notable project involved reengineering a steel gear housing for the timing motor industry, enhancing the design to meet stringent specifications. Using our 100-ton Minster press, we combined two parts into one, streamlining the process and ensuring tolerances as tight as ±.001″. This project demonstrates our ability to optimize designs for functionality and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Another significant achievement was producing over 1.2 million brass housings annually for automotive throttle position sensors. Utilizing our high-speed presses, we maintained exacting tolerances of ±.0005″, exemplifying our precision in manufacturing complex components for critical applications.
For the copier industry, we stamped a unique brass cover that required intricate forming and a slot stamped with a cam in the progressive die, saving additional steps and costs. Manufactured with our 80-ton Johnson press, this part highlighted our skill in handling difficult draws and combining operations for efficiency. The brass cover, with its barrel nickel plating over copper flash, met tight tolerances of ±.003″ and was produced at a volume of 60,000 annually.
In the exercise equipment industry, we designed and stamped a stainless steel electrode and terminal in one step, eliminating a secondary manufacturing process and adding a cost-saving that was passed on to the customer. The part measured 4″ long, 0.9″ wide, and 0.7″ high, and was manufactured using our 60-ton Minster press. This project showcases our ability to produce geometrically challenging parts and minimize costs, with a production volume of 15,000 electrodes annually and a tight tolerance of ±.002″.
Lastly, for the automotive industry, we produced a blade power terminal used in a power circuit for an interconnect header. This part was stamped using our high-speed, 60-ton Bruderer press, achieving dimensions of 49 mm by 22 mm with a precise tolerance of ±.025 mm. Made from high-performance C14415 copper with a reflow tin over copper flash finish, this project underscores our proficiency in delivering high-quality components for automotive applications, with an annual volume of 1,550,000 blade terminals.
